Infrastructure - physical spaces

The PPGEtno infrastructure meets the demands of both the faculty and the student body of the Program. We have faculty laboratories, computer rooms, student room, research support center (CENAPESQ) and library. In addition, the associative structure of PPGEtno is reflected, again, in a great benefit for professors and students, as it combines the infrastructure of UFRPE with that of different institutions. Below, we highlight the infrastructure of laboratories, as well as the physical space of the institutions involved:

1) Physical Space of the Department of Biology available for the Doctorate in Ethnobiology and Nature Conservation - UFRPE

SECRETARIAT : area of approximately 20m2 including an area intended for collegiate meetings. The PPG has a fixed secretary who performs the program's administrative activities (in person or remotely). The room also has a file to organize the documentation of all PPG students.

STUDENT ROOM : area of approximately 20m2. This space is intended both for students in transit (due to the fact that it is a PPG in association with other universities) and those taking on-site courses. However, all laboratories integrated to the associated HEIs have space for students, significantly expanding the space.

CLASSROOM : area of approximately 20m2 with whiteboard and two projection devices (data show).

ROOM FOR POST-DOCTORS AND VISITING RESEARCHERS : area of approximately 20m2.

2) CENAPESQ

The Federal Rural University of Pernambuco has the Research Support Center / CENAPESQ, opened in 2007 with FINEP and FACEPE resources and which is linked to the Ipê Institute of UFRPE. CENAPESQ (http://www.cenapesq.ufrpe.br/) makes it possible to carry out tasks of a scientific and technical nature, with a multi-user feature. CENAPESQ has laboratories for (i) Computational analysis and complex realities, (ii) Molecular Biology, (iii) Biotechnology, (iv) Instrumentation and analysis and (v) Microscopy. Thus, state-of-the-art equipment canbe used by teachers and students. For example: Inverted Scanning Microscope (Zeiss LSM 700), Scanning Microscope (TESCAN VEGA 3), Ultramicrotome (LEICA at UC7), among others are available for students and faculty. In addition, the Dean of Graduate Studies (PRPG), in conjunction with the Department of Infrastructure Maintenance Services (DMSI), instituted the “Research in Motion” Program (PPM) designed to meet the needs arising from the demand for research activities at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE). The PPM aims to expand the supply of vehicles so that researchers can work more intensively in the installation,
